Pazzini has world cup in his sights.
Jul/090

Sampdoria star Giampaolo Pazzini has set his sights firmly on next summers World Cup. The ex-Fiorentina man made an immediate impact last season when he made the switch to the Blucerchiati in January, scoring an impressive 11 goals in 18 games.
Pazzini made his international debut in March against Montenegro, scoring one of the goals in a 2-0 victory.
Pazzini talking recently to La Gazzetta dello Sport about the World Cup said
“I am honestly thinking about it, but it all depends on Samp’s results. The club comes before anything else. The rest will eventually only be a consequence.”
Pazzini also spoke about last season’s Coppa Italia final against Lazio.
“We try to pretend like nothing happened, but that final is still too big a wound,”
“Time will help us get over it, but from time to time our thoughts still drift to that night.
“My last five months were excellent, but now I will be able go through the entire pre-season preparation with the team and that will enable me to fine tune the understanding with my team-mates.”

Cassano has changed – Del Neri
Jul/090
Antonio Cassano and Luigi Del Neri clashed when they worked together at Roma, but Del Neri says FantAntonio has changed.
Cassano impressed his new coach by turning up for pre-season training early. “This proves how professional and hungry he is for success. He is truly changing,” commented Del Neri.
There were fears the two would have difficulty working together at Sampdoria, but it seems we are seeing a new, more mature and professional Cassano.
Del Neri went on to say that he believes that Cassano and one of his Samp teammates can regain their places in Marcello Lippi’s Azzurri squad. “It is going to be a very important season for him and I think both Antonio and Giampaolo (Pazzini) can win back the Italy jersey.”
The former Chievo coach finished by reassuring fans that the Blucerchiati’s mercato is under control. “The club is working well on the transfer market, which is not an easy task at the moment.
“The foundations of the squad are the same as last season and remain solid. The fans should relax, as we have it in hand, we are just looking for players who would fit in.”
